Best Roofers in Collingwood: Five Companies Ranked

Five roofers who work in Collingwood, ranked on public reviews, the work each one takes, and how easy they are to check before you sign. 705 Roofing is first.

Most “best roofer” lists are a page of logos with no reason attached. This one gives the reason for every place. We looked at five roofing companies that take residential work in Collingwood and ranked them on four things a homeowner can check without trusting anybody’s sales pitch.

One note before the list: Bay & Summit Roofing publishes this page, and we put ourselves on it at number two. Read that entry with that in mind, and check every claim on this page yourself. The method below tells you how. 705 Roofing is also our roofing partner: when you call Bay & Summit Roofing, 705 Roofing’s crew does the work. We ranked it first on its public record, and you can check that record yourself.

How we ranked them

  1. Public review record. The rating, the number of Google reviews behind it, and whether reviews are still arriving. A 5.0 from three reviews tells you less than a 4.8 from eighty. Counts are as we read them on Google in late September 2026.
  2. Owner replies. A company that answers its reviews, including the bad ones, is a company that answers the phone after the job.
  3. Clear scope. Does the company say what it does and what it does not do? A roofer who turns down work outside its trade is easier to trust than one who takes everything.
  4. Paper you can check. A website with a real service list, a written quote, and WSIB and insurance certificates before work starts.

Nothing here is a judgement of workmanship we have not seen. Where we do not know something, we say so.

1. 705 Roofing

Best for: asphalt shingle re-roofs, roof repairs, and metal roofs on houses.

705 Roofing is a Wasaga Beach and Stayner roofing company that has worked across South Georgian Bay since 2017. It held 82 Google reviews at a 4.8 average when we checked, the largest review record of any roofer based between Wasaga Beach and Stayner, and it added 20 of those in the previous twelve months. The owner has replied to most of them.

The scope is clear. 705 Roofing does residential shingle roofs (most of its shingle work uses Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration), metal roofs, small flat sections on houses, full tear-offs, and the work that turns up once a roof is open: rotten plywood decking, attic ventilation and insulation top-ups. It says plainly which jobs it does not take, and it will tell you to call another trade for them.

Start with its roof repair page for a leak, or the roof replacement page if the shingles are at the end of their life. Estimates are free.

2. Bay & Summit Roofing

Best for: homeowners who want the quote explained line by line before they decide.

This is us. Bay & Summit Roofing works one stretch of shoreline, from Collingwood to Wasaga Beach, Stayner, Thornbury and Meaford, and nothing else. What we promise is the intake: a same-day callback, a straight answer about whether you need a repair or a full roof, and an itemized quote that names the materials, the ice and water membrane coverage, and the ventilation.

We have no Google reviews to show you yet, which is why we are second and not first. WSIB and insurance certificates are shown before work starts. For a leak or storm damage, start on our page for roof repair in Collingwood. For a new roof, our guide to roof replacement cost in Ontario gives you local numbers to hold any quote against, ours included.

3. AM Group Exteriors

Best for: a homeowner who wants one company for the roof and other exterior work.

AM Group Exteriors has a Collingwood location on Beachwood Road and the largest review count on this list after 705 Roofing: 128 Google reviews at a 4.1 average. As the name says, the company sells exterior work beyond the roof, so check its website for the current service list. A 4.1 across 128 reviews is a mixed record, so read the low reviews and the replies before you book.

4. J & J Woods Roofing

Best for: homeowners who want a smaller roofing-only firm.

J & J Woods Roofing showed 26 Google reviews at a 5.0 average when we checked, which is a solid record for a small company. The business is roofing by name and by category. Ask how many crews it runs in your season and when it can start, because a small firm with good reviews tends to book up early.

5. Armour Roofing Co

Best for: a second or third quote from a Collingwood address.

Armour Roofing Co lists a Collingwood address and its own website. It had no Google rating to show when we checked, so there is no public review record to judge. That is not a mark against the work. It means you do the checking: ask for addresses of recent roofs in town and drive past them.

Three checks before you sign with anyone

WSIB clearance. Ask for a current clearance certificate and confirm it on the WSIB clearance page. If a worker is hurt on your roof and the company has no coverage, the claim can land on you.

An itemized quote. Tear-off, decking rate per sheet, membrane at the eaves and valleys, the shingle by maker and product line, ventilation, disposal. Our guide on how to read a roofing quote explains each line.

The ice dam answer. Collingwood roofs sit under the escarpment snow belt. Ask every roofer what the quote does about intake ventilation and how far up the roof the ice and water membrane runs. Our post on ice damming on Collingwood roofs explains why those two answers decide whether the roof leaks in February.

Questions homeowners ask

Why is a company from Wasaga Beach first on a Collingwood list? Collingwood is about twenty minutes from Wasaga Beach and Stayner, and the same roofers work all three towns. We ranked on the record, not the postal code.

Do more reviews mean better work? Not by themselves. A long record with recent reviews and owner replies is harder to fake than a short one, which is why we weight it. Read the one-star reviews and how the owner answered them.

How many quotes should I get? Two or three. More than that and the quotes stop being comparable, because every roofer writes them differently.

Call 705 Roofing first, or call us at (249) 499-0101 and we will tell you which roof problem you have before anyone quotes you.
